House Passes Bill Sharply Reducing Access to Health Care Coverage

The passage of the Affordable Health Care Act (AHCA) by the U.S. House of Representatives will have a devastating impact on Wisconsin’s children and families if the Senate also approves this ill-conceived legislation. We urge Wisconsin’s Senators to reject the House bill and instead support health care legislation that puts children and families first.

New Report Highlights the Impact Poverty Has on Children, Families, and Communities

A new KIDS COUNT report from the Wisconsin Council on Children and Families draws attention to the impact poverty has on children and families. The report also highlights a number of policies and programs that lawmakers could implement that would greatly reduce poverty—and save the state money in the long-term by reducing reliance on social programs and increasing economic productivity.
