Justice for Wisconsin Youth Opportunities
The Justice for Wisconsin Youth project (JWY) seeks to mobilize people who care about fair treatment of juveniles in the justice system. By joining forces with families, youth and community partners, we can send a clear message to lawmakers:
Juveniles are not adults and should not be treated like adults.
Ways to Get Involved
WCCF is collecting names of people and organizations who want to return 17-year-olds to the juvenile court system. See details and add your name to the list.
Youth Initiatives is a monthly E-Newsletter focused on the most current developments in the field of juvenile justice, child welfare and K-12 education. A typical newsletter might have a couple of research reports released in the previous month summarized, with a link to the full report, several upcoming events or conferences of interest, and during the legislative session and budget time, timely information on the process, what is being done for Wisconsin kids, and how you can get involved. If you would like to receive Youth Initiatives regularly by email, please sign-up. We will keep you informed on developments at the state capitol, along with ideas of how you can involved, including:
Contacting your legislators
Hosting information sessions in your local community
Sharing a story about a youth success in the juvenile system, or a youth involved in the adult jail or prison system
Circulating a petition to the Governor and State Legislator
