BadgerCare Plus: Resources for Parents and Other Potential Participants

BadgerCare Plus:  Who’s Eligible, for What, and What Will It Cost?This WCCF paper describes who is eligible for BadgerCare Plus, what they are eligible for, and what they will pay in premiums and co-pays (April 2008).

ACCESS – This State of Wisconsin website provides a fairly quick way to find out if you are eligible for BadgerCare Plus and other benefits. (See especially the “Am I Eligible” section.) You can also use it to apply online.

DHFS BadgerCare Plus homepage – This page provides a wide range of information about BadgerCare Plus, including a description of benefits, and material for groups interested in becoming community partners who do express enrollment.

BadgerCare Plus: Planned Expansion to Childless Adults – This one-page WCCF paper summarizes the state’s plan to provide health care coverage for childless adults, beginning in 2009. 

BadgerCare Plus Application Packet – This packet contains the forms and information needed for people applying for BadgerCare Plus.  (For the packets in Spanish and Hmong, use the link to the list of forms, below.)

Tables for Annual, Monthly and Hourly Earnings at Various Percentages of the Poverty Level – These tables show the 2008 federal poverty level for different sized families, and translate the annual poverty level figures into monthly and hourly amounts (February 2008).

"Providing Health Coverage for All Kids in Wisconsin:  The New BadgerCare Plus Law"– This brief paper provides a 2-page summary of the new BadgerCare Plus law and also includes a diagram showing the new categories of coverage.

"In Their Own Words: Wisconsin Health Care Story Series." – With assistance from Families USA and Wisconsin Citizen Action, WCCF collected the stories of uninsured Wisconsin residents. These stories highlight the importance of continuing to work toward the goal of making health care coverage available to everyone in the state (September 20, 2007).
