WCCF seeks a health policy outreach coordinator to focus on protecting and improving access to health care for all Wisconsinites, particularly access to Medicaid for children and families. The coordinator will work under the direction of our research director, Jon Peacock. Our health care team works at both the state and federal level to strengthen health coverage by analyzing and critiquing proposed changes in government policies; engaging in educational activities for the public, allied groups and policymakers; and collaborating with other organizations. This specific job will focus on outreach to the public and to organizations, networks, and coalitions to increase understanding of the implications of potential changes to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Responsibilities of the outreach coordinator will include: 1) preparing outreach materials with assistance from policy staff; 2) organizing outreach events such as presentations, workshops, and town hall meetings; 3) building relationships with allied organizations and potential allies; 4) meeting with individuals participating in Medicaid or benefiting from the ACA, and collecting stories illustrating the value of those programs.
